bzarcher: A Sylveon from Pokemon floating in the air, wearing a pair of wingtip glasses (GUNS!)

So I just got back from running around more and more today at work, and wanted to write down some ideas I got this /morning/.

Now: This ties all the way back to ep. 2 or 3.

All true megadeus start as an Archetype.

All megadeus establish a tie to their true pilots. (This is particularly seen in the Big series. Evidence is also seen in the Phantom/Ghost MD and the 'memory' MD in Angel's intro. Nistro and the Octavian might be considered an extreme example.) This tie does not have to be physical (the 'plugs' or Nistro's integration into the system), but it does seem to extend to when the pilot has exited the MD (Schwartwald and Roger being the best examples, but we've seen other cases).

Androids not only seem to be extremely effective choices to pilot a megadeus (esp. if Roger really is some form of ultra advanced Android, as ep. 25 and 26 hint at), but also seem to have powers over Archetypes and the forms they will take. (Terror in the dark/Schwartzwald's Leviathan and the interactions it had with R. Dorothy. Also R. Dorothy's ties to Dorothy 1, particularly her ability to use some form of verbal data transfer/code to 'stun' or pause them, or to apparently transfer/copy some or all of her memories into them.)

A Megadeus reaches full potential when it performs some form of merge/integration with its' pilot(s). When this union is with an Android, such as R. Dorothy or Nistro, it makes the power level truely incredible. (Until Nistro stopped fighting, he had Big O on the ropes.)

Big O seems to have already accomplished some level of union with Roger, which may not only explain its' higher power level over (most) Megadeus it encounters, but also why it can respond at times without Roger being in the cockpit. ("It moved by itself, Master Roger...") This is particularly possible if Roger really has been around, unaging, for more than 40 years with Big O, even if he seems to occasionally lose his memory and then rediscover Big O and slowly reassimilate into the same person and role of Negotiator, which might be his designed function, since specialization seems to be the key to many high-technology items. (Memory loss perhaps caused by fallout from the 'catastrophe', perhaps a result of the world resets that seem to be possible. Or maybe he's doing it to protect his own sanity? Even if he can love an Android, he doesn't seem to like the idea that he might be one.) A 'plug' union could have been forged and then disconnected, while still leaving that greater power and autonomy.

This also seems to be duplicatable with a human, but to a lesser degree. Schwartwald's apparent 'ghost' within Big Duo was only truly provoked when Allan Schezar pushed his artificial control too far, and Big Duo fought back using Schwartzwald as the key, rather than Schwartzwald being able to prevent the enforced control totally. Also see Alex Rosewater's remarkable degree of control of Big Fau.

When Dorothy had interactions with Big O, particularly ones off camera, it's possible she forged similar links, perhaps in the same way she 'activated' Schwartzwald's Archetype, which allowed her to awaken after the removal of her core module. (The memories/personality might have even been 'backed up' inside Big O and returned to her when Big O sensed the level of distress past a certain threshold?) This makes her 'plugging' into Big O particularly significant, because it potentially means that she shares ties to Big O on the same level or greater than Roger.

Now. If Androids are apparently responsible for shaping Megadeus out of Archetypes, how long/far does that process take? Is it possible that Big O is still 'maturing', and that while Roger (especially if he is an Android) made the first stages possible, that Dorothy will complete them, and become just as much of a Domineus of Big O as Roger has been?

Is it possible that the reason Big O was only able to fully unlock its' true potential was not simply a matter of needing power or some form of linkage, but that it needed two parents to truely develop?

Could the Megadeus in some odd way be considered the 'offspring' of the more advanced Androids?

Obviously, it's all moot if there isn't a season 3, or if they make a movie or manga that explains the unexplained, and it could all be that it was really 'just a TV show' and that none of it really obeyed any laws. But still...it's an interesting theory.
