I'm not sure what I expected tonight, but it turned different and interesting.

John from the office had his truck trapped in the street by ice and snow. So he asked if I'd drive him home. No worries. Easy. Then, he asked if I'd mind helping getting him dug out and push until he can get going. Once again, easy, and kinda fun. Got the exercise going and the blood pumping. So I thanked John for the chance to play around, and figured that'd be it.

But then he asked me if I'd had dinner plans. I said no.

"Cool. To say thanks for digging the truck out, I'm buying you dinner. I'll follow you to your place and then we'll take the truck."

So, I got a free dinner, and we chatted about gaming, job search, crap in general, and had a nice dinner at Applebees. (I had the 'Cowboy Combo' from the 3 course meal deal they're doing, though I traded out the veggies for a real salad. Good stuff. And the raspberry cheesecake was pretty nice, too.)

Not bad at all.

That sounds fabu! After reading your next entry I realized that I wanted to comment on 2 things: from this one - I think that this John guy gets my approval. This is the way one should treat helpful and cool people like you, also I think I need to get to know this Lisa woman who is so good to you. If you would ask her if she would be willing to add me as a friend I would appreciate it. I am going to add her now, and I just want her to know who I am so she doesn't think I'm a random stranger, or someone who might try to steal her man. (I can be very territorial like that so I always try to be courteous of others in a similar fashion.) ^_^ ~k~
