Temporary musing

bzarcherI'll post somethin more concrete after:
A) Sleep for more than 5 hours at a time for the first time in 52 hours
B) Dinner
C) Getting back to Wooster tomorrow.
Fritag: Insurance company computer went down for most of the day. Found out that I was pre-approved for the loan, but can't do anything for at least a week, maybe 2. No big deal. Will give me more time to think and make sure I do the right thing.
Got to MarCon. Met up with Rigger, Cossack, Bowie, and other people of foul and dubious repute, including several accidental encounters with the artist and writers of Mac Hall. Ian seemed a decent, if slightly skittish, sort.
Watched -lots- of Anime by dint of starting my weekend of working in the anime room. Biggest highlight of this: Seeing over the course of the weekend both the Classic and New Vampire Hunter D movies on DVD, and the entire Excel Saga anime in subtitled form. Excel Saga is wierd, funny, and a total parody of every other kind of anime, and the guy running the Anime room already has blank tapes earmarked for my complete copy of the series off the masters which I paid him for shipping to Wooster in advance. (Yatta!)
Saturday: Went home at 3am with Cossack so we could sleep. Back to Con by 9. Did anime room and dealers room, with some lego based battletech in there for flavor. Also a large amount of better than average food, and more than average drinking. (Now that I'm legal age, several friends seem to like buying me drinks. *shrug*)
Got: SD model of "The O" for Zeta Gundam: $5. (EXCELLENT deal)
DDR 2nd Mix OST double CD set: $20 (Okay deal)
New Katana (440 blade): $10+trade in of an older sword I used
solely for costuming. (BEST DAMN DEAL OF THE CON)
Usually I try to get at least one of the new Master Grades at MarCon, but even though I was sorely tempted to pick up the Qubeley MG, I decided that I really didn't need to do any more damage to my checking account than absolutely neccessary. I am gonna be on a more limited budget soon.
Went to Alex's hotel room to crash from 4am-9am. Watched some Red Dwaf on the Hotel TV channel, including the "Can't Smeg, Won't Smeg" cooking show/episode. Funny as hell. Then basically did the Anime room until 5pm, then Alex brought me and three other people I sorta know from the local Camarilla players to their respective homes. Changed clothes for the first time since Saturday morning, and Alex was offered and accepted staying for dinner which mom is out picking up as I type.
Hrm. This was actually a pretty full update, wasn't it??
