It comes to mind that when I leave Wooster, I'm going to need a new primary email that is not Yahoo/Hotmail/y'know.

I don't mind webmail, just not one of those. Any suggestions?

I could hook you up with a divisionbyzero.org address if you were so inclined.

How much space would that give me?

A gig amongst all email addresses, and I can have up to 60 addresses. I, however, have only 5 or so active.

*Drool* That'd be more than enough. Would it support POP or IMAP connections?

Don't forget that any ISP will give you at least one address.

Yeah, but I may not have an ISP set up in Columbus (or wherever I go), before I need to get stuff out of my Wooster account. And portability is a plus.

In this regard, few things beat getting yourself a web domain and making addresses on it. For the monthly price of a decent lunch, you can find a hosting company that will let you make a horde of addresses, and you get web space/ftp/cgi scripting/etc to play with.

...And you'll probably end up doing that anyway at some point. Unless there's a compelling reason not to, I'd say go for it.

I know this will sound dumb, but I don't want to open my own domain until I'm completely set up in my own place, and a bit more stable. For the moment, I'm gonna be using one or two accounts generously offered by friends, and we'll go from there.

Yeah, but now that all my stuff got moved to a staff context rather than a student, I'm pretty sure they'll close it down after I leave, so that I don't have access to things I shouldn't.
