Wow. I slept for 13 hours or so.

And when I came out, apparently people had finally trashed the building's communal kitchen enough that housing has padlocked it shut and put a note up about it.

Hi,

I'm not even sure if you are the right person to direct this to, but
since the Babcock RA/RD staff have not made themselves known to me or any
other resident, I'm going up to the top in hopes of finding a solution.

I am a student who, because of his work schedule for the college, cannot
eat in Mom's diner or the dining room in the evenings, because the grills
are typically closed by the time I am off work. The kitchen is my only
option if I want to eat a meal, and I know I am not the only student living in Babcock with such circumstances. I know that students have been trashing the
kitchen, often. I'm one of the people who has been trying to clean up after
them, with what I will admit is mixed success.

But, 60-70 people in one building should not be punished because of the
actions of perhaps 10 or 12 people who have no concept of respect for the
community or of the consequences of their actions. If there is some kind of
compromise we could reach to have the kitchen unlocked again, I would really
appreciate it.

It's great to start the day with a protest letter. And trying to figure out where/what I'm gonna eat. Oh, and did I mention they've threatened to close the bathrooms for similar reasons?

I'm starting to really appreciate how good the people I normally live with are to the College. (We get -THANK YOU- letters from Housing and Custodial, not ultimatums!)
