So, that wasn't planned...
Apr. 13th, 2004 07:32 pmSo, I had been having a crappy day, but my health had been improving. I think I got a minor case of food EW from Lowry. I was feeling healthier, my throat was better, and I was getting a handle on all the oh-shits from today.
Then, I had to go over to Kauke. And it was raining cats and dogs. And on my way...I slipped. Down the Kauke side entry steps. Nice, concrete, steps.
My first reaction was 'FUCK!' The second was 'Oh, shit.' Couldn't put weight on one leg. Pulled myself up onto the other leg by a wall. Hopped in. Got to an office. EMS was called, work was called, etx. John came over from the office and went to the hospital with me. My grandparents came down as well. X-rays were taken, and workmans comp filed.
The result, fortunately, is not that my leg is broken. However, I managed to sprain both sides of my ankle, and I may have pulled or torn a ligament. (However, the indicators of ligature damage could also be from when I tore my leg apart back in Middle School, too. They don't know, yet.)
I'm going to see an orthopedist later in the week, my leg's in an aircast, and my grandparents are at drug mart getting me happy pills and dinner. I also have a nice set of crutches, and a pillow under my foot.
I'll be okay, I'm just not going there terribly quick. :D
(And yes, I will be staying off the leg for at least 24 hours. No work tomorrow, and my boss kinda indicated that if I came in Thursday, she might just kill me.)
