It's times like this when I feel that Mexican culture has the right idea. The victim's family would hire someone to brutally castrate and turn to Eunuchs the guilty parties and then have someone rape the defense team. Because it is an 'honour' thing and the guilty parties made a 'confession', the cops look the other way.

I think that getting them off the hook is the job of the defense, and that they deserve to have their case advocated as effectively as possible. That's a basic premise of our legal system - that everyone will have their defense argued as well as possible, no matter how vile. Because it's only when we let the most vile assholes be defended that we can really trust that we'd be defended ourselves.
