Work has, frankly, been the day from hell.
Not only is the helpdesk here down by 2 people because they both called in sick, the desktop team is also down to -1- person.
1.
One, singluar, one.
The phones have been ringing off the hook since 7:30 until just a few moments ago, and because we're trying to help the single desktop guy out some, I am covered in machines to do preliminary break/fix on. (Thank god for the KVM switch.)
On top of that, we've had a LOT of users trying to just walk in and get us to do whatever their problem is before whatever's really important, regardless of what's going on. So bad that we have not only closed the desktop and helpdesk doors, but the helpdesk door is locked and the desktop access door has been switched to PIN only mode on the card reader. It was the only way to get on top of what's been rolling downhill at us.
On the shoulders of 3 stressed out people rest over 3500 users. None of whom appreciate that fact worth a damn.
Please let me make it through to lunch. I know I packed something, but I may go out just to get away from here.
