bzarcherHad an awesome night last night.
Got onto CoH and made Level 10, then went into PP, found a decent random group that turned into a monstrous WHOOP FEST. CoT, Clockwork, none were safe. We had me, an Assault/Radiation Science Blaster (L. 12), a Magic/Psychic Controller (L. 11), and a Natural/Regen scrapper. (L. 10) We kept supporting each other, and our Controller could rez when someone dropped. Monstrous XP, and despite dying twice I ended up only having 12 points of debt at the end of the day. Even took down an L. 13 Tesla Prince and a L. 14 Mindmage!
Very satisfying, got myself some Sniper Blast, and I'll probably take Taser or Targeting drone at 12, and Superspeed at 14. (Out of curiousity, anyone else doing an Energy Blaster: Is Power Bolt (or whatever the 3rd one on the energy blaster power tree is) worth it, or should I just keep using Power Blast, Energy Torrent, and Sniper Blast?)
Alex got home about then, so we cooked up some brats and mashed potatoes for dinner, with a side of green beans. Ate well, relaxed, worked on unboxing some of his stuff and loading the bookcase in the dining room.

skarlette when she got home, and in general had a pretty damn good day.
Looking forward to the cookout on Friday. Anyone else think they'd like to come? Get ahold of me by 5pmish tomorrow, because that's when I'm going out to buy the brats, burgers, and maybe some more chicken.
If this turns into my routine, it'll be a good routine indeed.
In other news, work's getting some upheavals. The manager has decided she wants to reshuffle our responsibilites as the new people come in, and she's stomping on toes pretty fiercely, to the point where the one person who had already been told she's being downsized got an opportunity over at Bank One, and I think she may end up taking three or four with her from the two teams.
I'm staying here because I figure it's a good place to work with good pay, and APT's taking good care of me. (Plus, APT already told me that Heidi's given them better feedback than they've had on anyone else they've put in a Helpdesk/Desktop position in the last 3 months. I have a gut feeling they'll want to place me fast if I open back up.)
I'll ride my contract to the hire/extend period, and see where things are at. Besides, if they decide to hire me on earlier than that because of people leaving, it's a good security blanket.
If I can work here full time long enough to get some good resume stuff (and I've already increased my Active Directory knowledge quite a bit), the worst case is that they decide to downsize again, I go back to APT, and if APT can't find me something when needed, I go to EDP, S3, Paragon, RHI, or anyone else. I might even try the Columbus branch of TekSystems, because the guy who handles the TekSystems people in my office seems a much more aboveboard type than the one I dealt with in Cleveland.
It's odd to be so calm about possibly changing jobs again, but I'm not worried. I'm realizing I have a damn good skillset, and the market here seems to be opening up. Plus, I've got a good group to go to bat for me, and I've been passed a LOT of contacts for places to go.
