I don't think they're bullshitting, but I still can't figure out just how they're going to do this and make it work, unless they're going to film several movies at once!
My reaction to this is much like my reaction when I heard there was going to be a movie of The Watchmen. I'll probably go out and see it, but mostly on principle. The odds of it being both a good movie and being based on the original story are so infinitesimal (sp?) as to not be worth discussing. It's possible to manage one or the other, but almost impossible for a Hollywood studio to do both.
