Woke up and did not feel well at all. Ended up calling into work. :/
There's a windstorm outside that is actually /shaking/ the house.
Also: Mild superhero sexuality speculation below. Cut tagging for anyone who hasn't seen The Incredibles, as it's a mild spolier.
Anyone else think that Elastigirl asked Mr. Incredible to marry her, not the other way around? It's obvious they love each other very much, but in many ways she seems to be the dominant/aggressive partner in the relationship, both socially and sexually. I suspect he'd have asked her eventually, but she probably just got tired of waiting and popped the question instead.

During the "back in the saddle" montage, you see him chasing her around friskily [you also see her elastigrab him back into the house]. So I think it was just she became the aggressive one while he was moping and sulking about not being able to be Incredible in public and do good except sneakily. When he was able to use his powers again, he got his mojo workin' again, IMO.
And then they were on even footing.

Plus, think about how he headed to the wedding? "I've got time..."
This seems like a guy who tends to cruise pretty easily, and is laid back enough that he'd not necessarily think on a courtship scale as quickly as she would.

Date: 2004-12-07 09:02 pm (UTC)I saw him as going "I've got time..." so he could get as much do-gooding in before the wedding as super-humanly possible. And so did Elasti-Girl. She pointed out to him before they kissed that he would have to be more than Mr. Incredible if their marriage was going to work.
It was a focal point of the movie. After the events that caused them all to have to go underground, Bob was still struggling with the urge to be a hero so much that his boss rubbing his nose in his inability to run off and hero at will caused him to blow his top.
Versus Elasti-Girl's attitude pre-lawsuit of "let the guys do all the heroing? I don't think so" and post-lawsuit of insisting the family stick to their "protected identities" and trying to make the best of not using their powers except in the house, even though it was driving her kids nuts.
And yes, Buddy picked that hottie Mirage, so he did have his heterosexuality on just fine.
