Alright, let's go down the list.
Dec. 11th, 2004 11:23 amI'm nursing my first ever hangover today.
It's funny, because I drank very little (3 beers, 1 martini), and I drank a lot of water (Somewhere around 4 liters). I blame my weakened immune system and peer pressure.
I also blame George Clooney.
It all started Thursday, when Dave (
dklegman) mentioned he wanted to go out Friday.
Alex and I were in. How could we not be?
Fast forward to me starting up my first load of laundry in the new washer after work when Dave calls.
"Movie, food, drinks. You still in?"
"Oh, I'm in."
After a quick trash run and showing off the washer/dryer to him, we were off to Easton to rendevous with Rick, Justin, Jim, and Roni, and Alex would meet us after he got off work.
We quickly settled on Ocean's Twelve.
We decided to eat before the show, so we ended up going to Abuelos for very, very good Mexican. The wait was long, but service was brutally fast. Dave had a Margarita bigger than his head. This would be a theme.
Ocean's Twelve was awesome. I wasn't expecting much (I'd seen the original Ocean's Eleven, but not the modern remake, which I now WANT to see), but I was very pleasantly surprised. These guys really did act like our peer group who happened to be thieves. I want to see it again, just to enjoy the jokes a bit more.
This has lead me to another life choice: Fuck computers. High stakes crime's a better paying job anyhow, and it's a much stabler job market than computers. Oh, yes.
Also saw a trailer for the movie Mr. And Mrs. Smith, which
skarlette and I are going to have to see. Just trust me, dear.
After the movie, we linked up with Alex, lost a few of our crew due to having to work tomorrow (today) and so Dave, Alex, and I wandered in search of places with an open kitchen after 12:00am.
We found the Bar Louie, and it was good. Awesome, awesome, awesome food, and then desserts that were once again bigger than heads.
Dave got a Brownie Sundae served in an 102 oz. martini glass. It's stem was thicker than my thumb. For $6. We were awestruck.
And now it's snowing. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
Okay, time to finish laundry.

Date: 2004-12-11 10:29 pm (UTC)11 is nowhere near as nonlinear. It's just slick, well-plotted, and a lot of fun. Plus, Basher Tarr (Don Cheadle owns me for free) and the really nondescript-looking guy and the twins get a lot more screen time, and get to actually do their specialties.

Date: 2004-12-11 11:20 pm (UTC)There's a nice, dreadfully subtle reference to the *entire rest of the plot* during the setup sequences. :)

Date: 2004-12-11 11:27 pm (UTC)I did get a lot of stuff between the two recon/baggers in their body langugage. But yeah, I need to rent that now.
And then go see 12 again.

Dave? We get The Limey, we get Ocean's 11, and we get some bros and snackage.
Not just a movie night: A crusade.

Date: 2004-12-12 04:53 am (UTC)When we went there, some driver had knocked over a light pole onto the front steps, so half the approach was blocked off.
Besides,
Giant Margarita > Giant Burrito
