It's ridiculous how happy a good snowfall will make me. I really am an 8 year old, deep inside.

Most people who rock are.

I lived in NY until 96.

And it never failed. First snowfall of the year, every year. Someone would look up, notice it was snowing. And you would hear this voice, usually gruff and stressed sound like a little eight year old. "Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit's SNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWING!"

And a half dozen adults would rush to the window going "oooh, snow!"

It didn't last very long, as the adult hate of shoveling and slush kicked in, but it's always fun while it lasts.

I can believe it.

Everyone in the office gave me a funny look for kinda squeeing about the snow, but hey, I did it. I'll do it again.

The snow's stopped, or at least paused, for now. Things are nicely dusted.

Oh yeah...snow when it's happening is magic. Especially a good two-footer at night.

Soon as it's over, I want it melted FAST.

I never mind it staying around - I think it's from spending my early years in lake-effect areas, or Norway. A really heavy, lasting snow is how my brain believes things are supposed to work.

Not too bad - about 1/2" or so. It's melting a bit already, but it's good.
