I felt bad for those script-toting Master Chiefs last summer. It was *really* hot in the Valley that day and each of them had the full Nightmare Armor rig...
I saw the pictures of that - definently not a fun day.
Though hopefully the nightmare guys rigged up some ventilation or cooling - I could see a small fan or three with a battery supply in the backpack.
Still, though - WETA doing Halo - OMG.
OMG.
I wonder if Jackson might have a plan to tap one of of his ADs from LOTR and Kong for the director's chair, keep his ADs and production teams in the loop...produce with a finger in the directing, too...
Plus, can you imagine Andy Serkis doing a voice for one of the Jackals or a Grunt?
Just so long as we don't get another stuffup like the Mirror of Galadriel scene, I'll be fine with it. Much as I think Cate Blanchett was the worst casting choice in LOTR, she doesn't take all the blame for that.
I haven't seen the EE version, but I assume it still has the neon green inverse filter they used on Galadriel. That was what really galled me about that scene. Well, that and Galadriel just sort of...holding her arms up and causing a storm. It didn't feel like the written version at all (from what I remember of it).
DD wasn't bidding on the effects, were they? I'd feel kinda bad if I was doing the hooah dance about this when it meant Chad and etx. lost out on a big contract.
I don't think we were yet. Not sure if they've even started bidding out effects work yet. Either way, just because Pete's production company is onboard doesn't automatically mean WETA is doing the effects.
It probably means they're doing the effects, yes, but they're Not There Yet. :)
