You wake up, you pop your shoulder out again, and you see...this. Oy!

1. I love the taste of coconut milk, but I am disgusted by the taste and texture of coconut meat.

2. I really still don't know what I want for christmas. Lots of things would be nice, sure, but nothing leaps out at me as "I HAVE TO GET THIS."

3. I miss the lack of a good Star Wars flightsim. X-wing vs. TIE isn't bad, but it's increasingly hard to get it to run on a modern PC.

4. I haven't been sleeping well, lately, but someone's been helping me with that this weekend.

5. I've noticed I tend to cook fairly 'heavy dishes' if left to my own devices. I like to make simple, quick food, and that isn't always the healthy stuff.

6. I also have no idea how to make mashed potatoes.

7. Books will always be welcome in this house.

8. I don't know if I'm ever going to be able to sing formally/professionally again. My voice is still there, but ever since the Wooster Chorus took the joy out of it, I haven't really found the urge to sing more than just singing to myself now and then.

9. I've been really scatterbrained of late, too. Odd.

10. I'm really looking forward to giving people their christmas presents this year.

11. I've been apologized to by my Mom for not divorcing my Dad when she was seriously thinking about it. I really couldn't say much back to that.

12. My feet are huge.

13. I'm debating going back to school. A Masters in Information Management might be a good thing for my future prospects.

14. Haven't built a model kit in awhile - just been doing miniatures. I should get one at some point and see how the one hobby has affected the other.

15. I really would love to go back to Isle Royale at some point and hike the islands again.

16. After the last time the power went out, I put a flashlight in almost every room.

17. I keep losing the studs for my tuxedo.

18. I really can't wait for the Canadian DVD release of the new Dr. Who

19. With my love affair with robots, the Cybermen were, unsurprisingly, my favorite villans, but the Daleks have that wonderful charm.

20. I can really use a neckrub, but most people who occasionally can be conned into giving me one complain that trying to work on my neck is a lot like trying to adjust a large chunk of rock. Oh, well.

OK! That's 20 in...8 minutes.

8 volunteers...hm.

Mashed potatoes:

1. Peel the selected amount of potatoes. (Or, not, if you use golden or red potatoes. In those cases, scrub off any dirt that might be on the skin.)

2. Cube the potatoes (about 1 inch square) and place in a pot of boiling water. Eyeball the water... it should be about the same as for pasta or rice.. What? 2 cups or so for four medium sized taters? I dunno...

3. Bring the water back to a boil, then lower the heat (or else it will overspill due to the starch).

4. It takes about 15 minutes or so. You know the potatoes are ready when you can stick a fork in one of the cubes and it starts to fall apart.

5. Drain the potatoes, by use of a collander or straining mesh.

6. Put in about half a stick (or 4 tbsps) of butter or margerine. Add more to taste, later, if you want. Mash the potatoes and melting butter until smooth.

7. Add small amounts of milk to the mixture until the consistency is to your liking. Some people like their potatoes really dry and stiff, others like it nearly as runny as gravy.

8. Add salt and pepper to taste, & mix.

Now, if you need any help on gravy, ping me. :)

Well, OK then.

Gravy I can do, oddly enough. I know how to make tons of food, which is why the potatoes were so odd.

You now have no excuse. I shall want to hear how your mashed taters go, in the future. ;)
