Jury dutied!

bzarcherWell, that was a (sort of) fun orientation for getting on the Grand Jury. Up by 6, at the courhouse by 7, sworn in by 9, and bored the hell out of my mind from there.
Sadly, I won't be on the first sitting jury, but I should hear if I'm on the next slot 2 weeks from today. (Based on the # on my ID card, I know I'll be in the first 1/3 of the juror pool, so I expect I'll be done before March.)
I will admit that I think being on the actual grand jury should be really interesting, but the legal proceedings and crash course in Felony Law today could have been done better. (Hint: If you are a judge or prosecutor instructing a jury pool, and it is before 10am in the morning, either serve coffee, speak in something other than a droning monotone, or BOTH.)
I have the rest of the afternoon off, and I do believe a nap is called for.
