Y'know, that extra withholding tax on bonus checks? Really sucks.

Thanks, Federal Government. You'd think I was telling everyone "Gee, I wish I knew a way to give up more of my hard work to the tax system."

*mutter* Over 1/3 of my bonus check gone. Fantastic!

Why shouldn't I be complaining when I won't recieve a sizable chunk of the promised bonus due to the government deciding to jack up the tax rate on anything considered "extra"?

Yup, they're right bastards. They did the same thing to Mike when he got his end of the year 'bonus', which was really just back pay for staying through the end of his contract. I detest the government.

As someone who just came out of a very bonus-oriented position, I feel your pain. I just stopped counting on however much the bonus was supposed to be and started being pleasantly surprised by what I got.
