Apr. 26th, 2006 11:51 pmWell, that was neat.
Friends of my grandparents from Norway (who in many ways could be considered a set of Godparents) have been working in Saudi Arabia for the last 20 years.
Od retired this year, and he and his wife, Beorg, visited my grandparents this week as part of a cross country tour, and I got to have dinner with them tonight.
It was really amazing to see them after 20 years. Very touching and meaningful, especially when one mentioned "We don't know when we'll be back here again."
They thanked me for taking time out of my week to drive out there and see them.
I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
And then I came home and got to BS with friends. Life is good.
