Jul. 24th, 2006 09:20 pmFinally watched Decoding Ferrain Adria.
Somewhere between amazement and awe at a lot of what I saw there. I understood a lot of the materials he was using, if not what he was doing with them (Woo AP Chem), but seeing his creations, and reactions of Tony and others eating them, just blew me completely away. It was like watching a guy walk up to a desk full of tinkertoys, and making a Lotus Super 7 out of them. Sure, it's possible, kinda, but how?!

Date: 2006-07-25 11:03 am (UTC)Adria basically uses SCIENCE + genius + love to get into what makes us react to food, and tries to create dishes that are kinda strange, and kinda beautiful, but also get very powerful reactions at the experience of eating.
...I'm really not doing it justice at all.
I would see if you can catch a rerun (or, well, let's be honest - BT it), and you'll see what I'm talking about.
