I woke up this morning to find out a friend is dead.

I wasn't one of the ones who knew him longest or best, but he was still a friend, and he is still gone.

Goodbye, Shaun.

Both your friend's family and you will be in my prayers.

It's strange, really. I got shocked and torn up by Sajid's death (thought it didn't totally hit me until we toasted his life at BotCon).

This time, I just feel kinda surprised. Sort of an "Oh." feeling.

I figure your the safest one I can ask and not get judged, cause I'm on the fringe of the MUSHing group. But which Shaun died? Aren't there 3 of them?

Heh.

Yeah, it's OK.

Shaun was mostly a TF fixture. Shaun Wolf, AKA GalvaShaun. I think he was mostly known for Galvatron@2k5. He did some up a little at M3, but he's not the same person as Duo (That's [livejournal.com profile] big_daddy_shaun.)

Yea, I knew Duo pretty well. But everyone was just saying "Shaun". Yea, I heard only rumors and tales about that Shaun.

I brainfarted. Shaun WHITE, not Shaun Wolf. I almost did tell you that Duo had died! That would have been a little embarassing.

That's one of the worst things to wake up to. My sympathies.

I do appreciate that. Thank you - I'm sorry I didn't respond earlier.

Thank you.

It still doesn't quite click for me. I feel more like I found out he was going on vacation for awhile, and I can't quite get my hands around "He's not coming back."

It can take a while. A solid year after she died, I'd see an interesting book in a store and more often than not I'd catch myself thinking, "I've got to tell Mom about that."
