Oh, bullll-shit!
Jan. 9th, 2007 08:00 amI'm reading an article in the Dispatch about tattoos and personal meanings, which is great.
But then I hit the section on a 21 year old student over at Ohio Dominican, and she has a really cool ink of a guy in a spacesuit fighting a bunch of robots. And her caption says...
"The spaceman-vs.-robot battle depicted on my right arm is intended to illustrate ideas that transcend time: idealism, optimism, hope, integrity, perseverance, escapism and progress."
Bullllshit!
I'll bet $20 that what the spaceman vs. robot battle on her arm was intended to illustrate was A Really Cool Spaceman Fighting A Bunch Of Robots.
I know you're in the paper, honey, but it really is OK to be honest and not try to make up a thesis. (Tell me that last time you heard a 21 year old describe their tattoo as an escapist mentality with a straight face...)
Re: The BCS championship, I give Florida tons of credit for coming out and wanting it, and OSU's offensive and defensive lines just couldn't make the adjustments to allow the kind of plays that got them into the championship.
Am I disappointed? A little, sure. I wanted to see guys like Troy and Ginn go out with another ring. But there ain't much I can do about it, and I have to think that all the players returning next year just got handed a massive plateful of motivation.
