I'm working from home today, which is far nicer than dealing with the roads this morning. (Particularly since they (and worse, the other drivers!) were bad enough to make getting home last night take 2 hours.)

The odd thing is, to get up to make the decision about working from home vs. staying home, I ended up getting up an hour earlier than normal, and signing into my work phone and systems over remote access about an hour early as well!

So I'm working a 9+ hour day just to get the privilege of home...hmm.

Oh, well! At least it's warm.

Fie on you. I wish I could stay home where it's warm. But no. I have to drive half an hour to campus, so I can sit in class from 3-4, and 7:30-10. blegh

Would you like cruel laughter, mocking laughter, or a mix?

Extra extra! There was a fraction of an inch of snow today, which didn't stick to the streets! We need to close all the schools in Maryland. (DC just delayed by an hour or two, and VA stayed open.)

That's gotta be kinda amusing.

Meanwhile, we are still on the front lines of Canada's winter assault.

Well, at least you didn't have to work outside, which I had to do for part of the day. Personally, I like the idea of my refrigerator close at hand. But my cat Zathras would likely cut my productivity.

I freely admit that working outside today likely had large barrels of suck attached to it.

However, what got to me today was how much less I felt I was able to accomplish from home. I pushed a lot of tickets and worked a lot of phone calls, but I never really felt like I got into a groove, and I had to work a lot harder on basic stuff because so many of my resources were harder to get to.

All things considered, I might have gone in if I'd had today to do over again - declined my Boss's kind offer and sucked it up, and I bet I'd have felt a little more satisfied when 5:30 rolled around.
