Purging and burning.

So, it's been a good weekend.
Cossack came down and picked up his computer, amid adventures in dangerous Columbus dining and his somewhat impaired sense of directions. Then, after seeing him safely back onto the road this morning and renewing my plates, Lisa, Alex, and I ended up adventuring.
First stop was to Bed, Bath, and Beyond where we replaced our (rather meh) cooking knives with a new set of verrrry fast and nicely balanced Calaphons, to back up my personal Weapon of Choice. (I really like the Calaphons, don't get me wrong, but the Sabatier santoku I bought for myself a few months ago just fits my hand like it was made for it!)
Then, it was a slow death march through traffic to get to the North Market, where many delights were found, including my exposure to the Banh Mi, which is basically the Vietnamese equivalent of a sub sandwhich, and is really, really good. Jeni's also had some new flavors, including a goat cheese and port-infused cherries ice cream that was basically heaven in a cone.
Returning home with our loot, further loot came in the mail for both Lisa and I - for her, a set of books she ordered off Amazon, and for me the new Dark Angels Codex. (Mwahaha.) Which...kinda inspired me to get off my ass about the painting shelf, and lead to me painting up this new Chaplain while the Leafs lost to Buffalo. (Heartbreaking - they played better hockey the entire game, but Ryan Miller was just a brick wall tongiht.)
Fittingly, the last touches went on as I tuned into the Jackets game and saw Chimera drop in the tying goal, followed by Modin with the go-ahead. Woot.
I took a few pictures, but sadly the camera's battery died before I got much farther.
Still, a very, very good weekend, and I'm feeling very energized.
Ooo. And I just found this!
