The fact that a multi-million dollar customer support database runs on ACCESS and that they refuse to switch to a better solution despite constantly losing shit, corrupting the tables, or needing daily restores boggles my mind.

If they really want it to be in a database, I just don't get why we have a full MS Enterprise Agreement and they're not being forced to use SQL! I mean, if we lose customer support data, you'd think we'd be at a risk of losing MONEY, right? Why take chances?

Yes but if it's losing money because of the status quo, then it's alright, because it's not my fault, it's some nameless people and we can all duck the blame. But if we try to fix it, then any problem will be my fault. And We certainly can't have that.
