( The response to this guy was just too amusing not to post. )
Work's been a large slice of "Suck", but is almost over. We found out that 10 of the machines which went to the dorms were actually 10 machines ordered with boosted RAM and DVD-R drives that some faculty members ordered as part of a grant, and Trucking swapped the pallets. *wince*
Guess who's been out swapping them back to the correct places?
On the upside, John took me to lunch, and confided many things to me, not the least that my upper level bosses now recognize my many efforts and backbreaking work habits because he finally slapped them in the face with it as compared to the "regular" hourly staff, and the fact most of them are doing 3 hours of work per 8 hour day. And that a lot of the people whose offices and labs I've been setting up believed that -I- was the regular staff, and -those- assholes were the summer help.
Yay for being the reliable one...I have a feeling the regular staff position is getting much closer to reality. (Who knows, maybe I'll even convince them to pay me what I'm worth....)
