Why the hell are they encountering the Borg on Enterprise????

What bullshit is this?

I haven't watched Trek regularly since TNG ended. Decent plot-writing left Star Trek years ago.

You mean people actually watch Enterprise?

I was flipping, and saw Borg, and was "Huh. Maybe it's First Contact?" and then... "WHAT?"

Crossover? ;-)

I'm pretty sure Star Trek is now the proverbial Dead Horse.

Flogged, beaten, and the marrow hoovered from every bone.

Admittedly, I didn't like the original as much as TNG, and Babylon 5 did it better, and Roddenberry was a hack who just sold good writers, but...GEEZ.

*obligatory IMO Star Trek rant*

TNG was great once everybody figured out how to work with it. The latter part of Season 3 and most of Season 4 were some fine SF TV. The franchise started going nose-down when Roddenberry died and others began running things. And opening a shaky looking Star Trek movie right before Harry Potter opened was flat-out dim. All that said, I still think Wrath of Khan is the high-water-mark for all things Trek.

I don't like to directly compare Babylon 5 to Star Trek since they do different things which both happen to involve space. ;-)

Point there. Quite a few points. Though I'd take ST:VI as at the same point as Wrath of Khan, or at least close.

As to B5 vs Star Trek, I dunno. DS9 vs B5, true...

Oh, well.

My money is on the fact that Ziggy is responsible, and Bakula is finally ready to leap into a good show.
