bzarcher: A Sylveon from Pokemon floating in the air, wearing a pair of wingtip glasses (Remember)

Before my day went to hell, I did actually mean to write a more positive post.

So, about time I did that.

Lisa and I went and caught V for Vendetta on some of the AMC movie passes that work occasionally feeds me for jobs well done and favors rendered.

I was, I have to admit, more than a bit skeptical. I love the book. I hated the Matrix sequels. I couldn't imagine a blending of the men behind one and the subject matter of the other would go that well.

Thankfully, I was surprised.

While I think the book is still better in many ways, I'd strongly reccomend that you go see the movie. Even if you haven't read the book.

Hugo Weaving deserves a Best Actor nomination for the incredible amount he emotes and acts without ever allowing his face to be seen throughout the movie. I doubt the Academy will give him one, but he does all the same.

You still get a lot of the character, even in silent moments, communicated without one of the most important parts of the human communication suite - I think that's impressive.

If you'd like me to explain why I like the book a bit more, I can, but I also didn't feel like doing a heavy compare and contrast, rather than giving the praise I intended.
