If he hasn't replaced the router by tonight, to hell with them. I've been playing by his ultra-paranoid and often stupid rules since I came back to their house, and I'm sick of it. My family's inability to follow up on their word has been an infinite source of frustration to me, and one that I will no longer tolerate.

Besides, something tells me that if I hooked the wireless direct to the cablemodem, and loopbacked the broken router, he wouldn't even be able to tell if it was working or not.

I am tired of denying myself human communication.

Edit: Interesting. An overwhelming positive female response, and the only negative so far as come from a male. I wish I was still doing some gender studies work. This could be a paper in the offing.

The problem with having done my job a little too well is that I get very, very bored at the end of the day.

Unless someone calls with a late day problem or emergency, by now I've hit all our outstanding calls, closed as many as I could, and we're at the point where if a call goes more than 2 rings before getting picked up, it's unusual.

There are times that I suspect my dad waits until JUST before I am ready to get into a confrontation with him, no matter how subtle, before doing what is needed.

On the other hand, at least he did the right thing, finally.

ALso, interestingly enough, janet_reno has apparently decided to weigh in on my little poll/sociology experiment. Interesting.

I'd like to note, though that I'd like to see explanations from those who offer contrary opinions. I think they're as if not more important than the affirmative.
