Memes and rumination.
Jan. 18th, 2005 04:49 pmA guy and a girl are on a motorcycle.
Girl -- Slow down. Im scared.
Guy -- No this is fun.
Girl -- No its not. Please, its too scary!
Guy -- Then tell me you love me.
Girl -- Fine, I love you. Slow down!
Guy -- Now give me a BIG hug.
-=Girl hugs him=-
Guy -- Can you take my helmet off & put it on yourself? Its bugging me.
(In the paper the next day):
A motorcycle had crashed into a building because of brake failure. Two people were on it, but only one survived.
The truth was that halfway down the road, the guy had realized that his brakes broke, but he didn't want to let the girl know. Instead, he had her say she loved him & felt her hug one last time, then had her wear his helmet so that she would live, even though it meant that he would die.
If there's anyone you love this much, re-post this...
That much was kipped from
skarlette, though I can't imagine who she's talking about. (;))
Gives an interesting question, tho. Personally, I'd argue that even without brakes, there are ways to save both lives. And though no greater love has a man than to lay to his life for his comrades, I still say it's better for everyone to walk away...

Date: 2005-01-19 01:09 am (UTC)You can force a bike to downshift, it'll act like a brake. Destroy the engine, but what's 4000 bucks compared to, you know..death.
But the thought it cute.

Date: 2005-01-18 10:49 pm (UTC)Though you'd think that if he had time to swap helmets, he had time to try bleeding his engine, cutting down on his tranny, etx.

(The technical term for this stuff is apparently "glurge." I rather like the suggestion of barely-suppressed retching from sweetness involved in that word.)
